Sentimental Heritage
Project Presquile
What started as a mudroom and foyer refresh, turned into a whole first floor facelift for this 1990s builder home in North Oakville. The clients, a couple with young adult children, decided to finally reclaim their space and make it their own. They had collected beautifully made vintage furniture, from the early and mid 20th century, which we were able to modernise and reuse, including an armchair which was very dear to my client, since it was her reading chair as a child in her grandmother’s cottage in Québec. Sustainability was really at the heart of this project! The furniture layout was optimized to accommodate their growing family, which now includes grandchildren. Finally, the client’s art collection, which had been stored away for years, was put on display, and allowed us to bring in pops of colour to the space.
